On Mar. 13, the 40th anniversary of the founding of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), Chancellor Li Jian’ge, also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sun Yefang Economic Science Foundation, was invited to deliver a report themed ”40 Years of Reform and Opening-up, and the Foreign Exchange System in China". Mr. Pan Gongsheng, Director and Secretary of the Party Committee of the SAFE, presided over the meeting.?

Established in March, 1979, the SAFE is China's foreign exchange?regulatory agency, which functions as a bureau directly under the State Council, and managed by the People’s Bank of China.

Chancellor Li’s report started with the development of China's Reform and Opening up. He focused on the reform and opening up in the field of foreign exchange, traced back the reform history of the foreign exchange management system. He summarized that this reform has a significant role in the overall progress of the Reform and Opening up.

With strong theoretical insights, rich content and informative data, Chancellor Li’s report further deepened the participants' understanding of the refor?in China's foreign exchange management system, and the general progress of the Reform and Opening up in China.
