On Saturday afternoons, maybe you will choose to read some prose in the quiet library and let the page slip through the fingertips, ignoring the time; or sit with your friends to talk about dreams and life with a cup of coffee. GTIIT First Year students are starting to be teachers in the Fun Class！
GTIIT Fun Class is a seven-week teaching practice project jointly organised by GTIIT and Dongxia Middle School. 14 students were chosen to be classroom teachers after rounds of selection process conducted by GTIIT foreign academic staff.
These 14 young teachers started their journey of teaching 6 Year 7 and Year 8 students on November 10th, 2018. Every Saturday, they gave up their free time, Even on exam days.
During the seven weeks, they designed courses, developed teaching plans, established teamwork, and prepared classes independently. All courses were taught in English by the students. This project brought a whole new learning experience to those junior high school students.
Aiming at encouraging them to think independently and creativily, GTIIT students prepared PPT, videos, experimental materials, crafts and gifts. Besides, teachers who did not have classes in a particular week served as Teaching Assistants, guiding students to further explore the class.
Students at Dongxia middle school were attracted by the diversity of the classes, such as role-play, handmade parachutes, fruit batteries, debate sessions, logical thinking, biology, etc.
The program drew a successful conclusion on 5th January at GTIIT.
