The Chinese Minister of Science and Technology WANG Zhigang recently visited the Technion, meeting with Technion leadership and exploring the tremendous possibilities of future cooperation in research and innovation between Technion and China.?Dean of Graduate Studies of GTIIT Prof. Moshe Eizenberg introduced the teaching model of GTIIT. "In training the students at GTIIT, we grant them the high academic standards of the Technion in Haifa, including courses on innovation and entrepreneurship."

During his visit, Minister WANG met with Technion Senior Executive Vice President Prof. Adam Shwartz; Dean of Graduate Studies of GTIIT Prof. Moshe Eizenberg; Head of the Helen Diller Center for Quantum Science, Matter and Engineering Prof. Gadi Eisenstein; and Director General of the Samuel Neaman Institute for National Policy Research Prof. Moshe Sidi.
Prof. Moshe Eizenberg further introduced the establishment and operation of GTIIT. "To date, we have recruited 20 new faculty members from around the world who are beginning to assemble their labs, submit research proposals, and recruit graduate students,"said Prof. Eizenberg. "In training the students at GTIIT, we grant them the high academic standards of the Technion in Haifa, including courses on innovation and entrepreneurship."
"The Technion has trained thousands of engineers," Minister WANG Zhigang said, "It's a significant and central factor in Israel's technological development. The three Nobel Prize laureates and the Technion's high placement in academic rankings testify to its research and academic excellence." He further pointed out, this visit aimed at gaining insight into cooperation in research and entrepreneurship between China and the Technion, learning from the Technion's extensive experience in promoting technological innovation, and strengthening cooperation between China and Israel through innovation and technology.

Minister WANG had in-depth discussion with?leaders of the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Economy and Industry on improving the mechanism of the China-Israel Joint Commission on Innovation Cooperation and deepening innovation and cooperation.
GTIIT is the first university that has been introduced with quality educational resources from Israel and has independent legal people status. Government leaders of the two countries spoke highly of GTIIT at the second and third meetings of China-Israel Joint Commission on Innovation Cooperation in 2016 and 2017. GTIIT is also selected as the representative achievement of the education field of these two countries, participating in the pre-conference exhibition.
