The "Topological Combinatorics(Shantou) Conference" was successfully held at GTIIT from August 12th to 18th. International experts from Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, University of Waterloo,?école Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, CERMICS, University of Grenoble and Hungarian Academy of Sciences were invited to attend.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Ron Aharoni on the morning of August 12th. Experts gave speeches, entitled "Rainbow Matchings", "Stability theorems for independent transversals", "Rainbow fractional matchings", "Fair splitting of colored paths, "On 4-chromatic Schrijver graphs", "Generalised Mycielski graphs and the Borsuk-Ulam theorem", "Controlling Lipschitz functions" and "Envy-free division without assuming the players prefer non-empty pieces", respectively.

Topology is a significant branch of modern mathematics,?which has a close interaction with other branches of mathematics and other disciplines while the field of combinatorics touches on almost all branches of mathematics. The success of the conference has strengthened the international exchange of scientific researchers, provided a great platform for understanding the latest developments of related topics, and promoted the international exchange and academic development of GTIIT.
