On the?afternoon of June 21st, GTIIT Vice Chancellor, the Nobel Laureate Prof. Aaron Ciechanover and EPVC Prof. Eliezer Shalev came to Foshan No.1 High School to give a scientific lecture to over 1200 Grade 10 and Grade 11 students as well as to the alumni of the high school. The two professors also shared their own stories at the event.
According to Prof. Ciechanover, his story was a typical Israeli story and he was only a B student when he was young. What keeps him running and makes it happen is his passion about science. He encouraged students to follow their heart and do what they really enjoy. Difficulty is there, but that's also called experience. You met difficulty and you learn from the lesson.
Prof. Elizer Shalev wished that students can make full use of their good memory and use it in research. Just like going to the movie, you need to know what is going to be shown and memorize it in order to choose the right one. Memorize what you learnt and sort it out. This is the way to the solution.
Speeches were all delivered in English. Students of Foshan No.1 High Schools have very good language ability and one of the girl even summarized Aaron's scientific presentation in Chinese accurately! She was so amazing. Aaron was impressed and signed autographs for her!
