May 26th - Shen Yiyong, Associate Professor from School of Marxism, Shantou University, executive director of Shantou Law Society and arbitrator of Shantou Arbitration Commission, was invited to give GTIIT students a lecture on the topic of “risks prevention during job-hunting”.
?

Shen has rich experiences in handling cases. In the lecture, he presented the dreary legal provisions with myriad vivid cases in real life to solve some internship-related or employment-related puzzles common among students. For example, when it comes to “tripartite agreement” signed by graduate-to-be students, Shen explained, “tripartite agreement is signed by universities, employers and students, which represents the will of students. The agreement is terminated once students officially work for their employers. One thing needs to be noted, students might have to pay certain amount of liquidated?damages if graduate students fail to fulfill the agreement. Therefore, students need to be cautious about choosing their employers.”
?

Shen also interpreted some new regulations on Labor Contract Law, based on which Shen offered students some tips on protecting their rights.
?

Shen concluded, “while you are hunting jobs, please follow legal and regular manners, be cautious about signing contracts and protect yourself with legal weapons if necessary.”
?
“The lecture greatly enriches our knowledge on laws and regulations, benefiting our lives and career. Hope that more lectures with extracurricular topics will be hosted in the future. “students said.?
