On April 22, Mr. Liang Zhiyao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Xiangcheng District Committee of Suzhou, and his delegation visited Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) to conduct research and exchange on topics of higher education institution development.
During the symposium, Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT welcomed the delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of GTIIT's establishment process, campus construction, etc. He emphasized that the university is committed to cultivating scientific and technological talents with a global perspective and expressed hope to explore more collaborative opportunities with Xiangcheng District in various fields.
Mr. Liang Zhiyao spoke highly of GTIIT's achievements and introduced Xiangcheng District's development plans in emerging industries and other areas. "We welcome GTIIT faculty and students to visit Suzhou for exchanges. We look forward to strengthening cooperation with GTIIT and maintaining close communication," he said.
Representatives from GTIIT's administrative departments engaged in discussions with the delegation on topics such as industry-university-research collaboration and operational management experience. Both sides agreed that this visit not only enhanced mutual understanding between GTIIT and Xiangcheng District, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges, but also provided new insights for cross-regional collaboration.
Led by Dr. Queena Yi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, the delegation toured GTIIT's north and south campuses, gaining a detailed understanding of its campus planning, laboratory construction, and talent cultivation. As a science and engineering university established by China and Israel, GTIIT integrates Israel's innovative education model with localized practices in China, and its achievements in talent cultivation left a deep impression on the delegation.
