Recently, Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), delivered an introductory lecture for the 2023 cohort. He hoped the students would take firm patriotic stance, master professional skills and start the new year with ambitions.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed that we must grasp the primary task of promoting high-quality development and develop new quality productive forces, which provides scientific guidance and blueprint for high-quality development in our country.
To better understand the needs of scientific and technological innovation in the new era, Prof. Lin Danming led the students to review the history of science and technology development in China and encouraged them to integrate personal development with the fate of the country, and move towards bigger growth in science and technology.
Based on scientific and technological innovation, new quality productive forces have become strong impetus for high-quality development. Prof. Lin Danming pointed out that the subject setting, faculty resources, and training mode of GTIIT fit in the development of new quality productive forces, which brings greater opportunities and challenges for GTIIT students. He hoped that the students would cherish it and devote themselves to the new semester with full enthusiasm.
In the lecture, Prof. Lin Danming also shared the amazing performance of GTIIT graduates. Whether they go to leading universities worldwide for further study, or work in the top science and technology enterprises, they have explored a broader life path at GTIIT, which highlights the unique educational pattern embodied in GTIIT.
The vivid and profound lecture triggered resonance among the students as applause rang. It also helped the students quickly adapt to university life. One of the students present said he believed that he would have a bright future after putting efforts in university.
The new semester is coming. Let’s uphold the "Dream it. Do it." spirit, shoulder our responsibilities bravely, and jointly contribute to national development and social progress.
