Mr. Li Ka-Shing, Chairman of the Li Ka Shing Foundation and Honorary Chairman of the Shantou University Council, arrived in Shantou on17th, to attend the inauguration ceremony of GTIIT yesterday. After warmly welcomed by Chen Liangxian, Secretary of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, and Zheng Jiange, Mayor of Shantou, Mr. Li had a seminar with them.
Chen Liangxian said, it is very
important for Shantou to implement the strategies of rejuvenating the
country through science and education, strengthening the country through
talents and innovation-driven development by supporting Shantou
University and GTIIT. Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal
Government will support the development of STU and GTIIT as usual, as an
appreciation of Mr. Li's great concerns and expectation on his
hometown.?

Mr. Li Ka-Shing said, he remains to be committed to his promise to Shantou University, that is, the support to STU will beyond the limit of life, sparing no efforts to fuel the development of STU, GTIIT and education in hometown, and cultivating more talents for Shantou and even China.
