On December 14th, the 3rd "My Story with GTIIT" speech contest was held at the Auditorium of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). The contest was widely participated in by staff and students from all grades and majors. After the preliminary selection, 10 contestants entered the final round.
Before the contest started, Yigal Cohen, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the judges, the contestants and the audience. He encouraged the students with the “Dream it. Do it.” spirit of GTIIT and wished them a bright future.
In the contest, the contestants expressed their styles around the theme and vividly shared their stories with GTIIT, winning applause from the audience.
The judges of the contest included Mr. Eric Zeng, Director of the STU president’s office; Prof. Karen Chen, from College of Liberal Arts of STU; Ms. Miki Steiner, head of English program at GTIIT; Prof. Manuel VELAZQUEZ LEON, from GTIIT English program and Mr. Chaim Cohn, English Teacher of GTIIT.
The contest awarded one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, four excellence awards and one award of best stage performance. The judges presented the winners with certificates and trophies.
The contest not only provides a stage for the contestants to show themselves, but also provides an opportunity for the audience to think deeper. The speeches allow us to perceive the charm of learning, cross-cultural communication and the wonderful life at GTIIT, guiding the teachers and students of GTIIT to strive for progress and achieve more.
