Recently, the inaugural conference "Ultrafast Optics: From Spectroscopy To Attosecond Science" (Ultrafast GTIIT 2023) was successfully held in the North Campus of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). This conference brought together scholars from renowned universities and research institutions. Its purpose was to provide an open platform for discussions and exchanges in cutting-edge scientific fields such as ultrafast science and nonlinear optics.

The conference began with an opening address by Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT. He introduced GTIIT as the unique research-oriented university in China jointly established by China and Israel. Leveraging the century-long innovation heritage of the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, GTIIT is committed to advancing the field of science. He hoped that the scholars in attendance would have a meaningful symposium, sharing knowledge and collectively driving progress in the field of ultrafast science.

The conference was comprehensive, covering topics such as photoionization and attosecond science, high-order harmonic generation, attosecond molecular dynamics, and ion resonances. Experts and scholars from renowned universities and research institutions in China, including the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, National University of Defense Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Southern University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, East China Normal University, Harbin Engineering University, Jilin University, Yunnan University, Shenzhen University, Guangzhou University, Shantou University and GTIIT, Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, as well as the journal Ultrafast Science shared their cutting-edge research findings in corresponding areas.

The significance of ultrafast science lies in its provision of an unprecedented tool for scientists to capture and understand the behavior and dynamic processes of electrons in matter on an extremely short time scale. The development of this technology allows humanity to observe and measure phenomena in the microcosmic world with unprecedented precision and speed. Scholars raised questions related to the presentation content, research methodologies and future directions, showcasing their profound research in the fields of attosecond science and spectroscopy, as well as the vibrant vitality of the field of ultrafast science.

During the conference, some participating scholars introduced their latest research results, experimental data and research methods in the field of optoelectronics in the poster presentation session, and discussed with industry experts.
