A lively and joyful Mid-Autumn Festival event illuminated GTIIT, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members in the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival. It created an atmosphere of reunion within the campus community and promoted the charm of Chinese traditional culture.

Students and staff from all around the world gathered on the second floor of the canteen in GTIIT South Campus, engaging in a series of traditional cultural experiences. Under the guidance of experienced masters, they learned techniques for mixing mooncake fillings and wrapping them in delicate snow skin, creating a variety of delicious and mouthwatering snowy mooncakes.

Students savored moon cakes with a distinct Chaozhou flavor. These moon cakes are renowned for their unique taste and craftsmanship, adding a different flavor to the Mid-Autumn Festival. While tasting the moon cakes, participants delved into the history of Chaoshan culture, enriching their understanding of the folk culture that distinguishes China.

Under the guidance of traditional art masters, GTers learned how to paint exquisite floral patterns on moon-shaped fans. The students gave full play to their creativity and made unique fan works, showing their artistic talent of STEM students.

The event was filled with laughter and joy, as students and faculty members formed closer connections during this festival. Associate Professor Elissaios Stavrou showed a keen interest in Chinese culture, "I know that the Mid-Autumn Festival is a very important holiday in China, symbolizing the reunion of family and friends. The shape of mooncakes aptly represents the beautiful symbolism of reuniting with loved ones. This event gathers GTIIT students and faculty to taste mooncakes, make mooncakes and decorate fans. I am happy to have been a part of it."

GTIIT students and faculty spent a cozy evening through the enriching activities. It showcased GTIIT's active promotion of multicultural exchange as an international university and also contributed to the preservation and promotion of Chinese traditional culture.
