To help freshmen students better adapt to the new environment and new life in university, GTIIT 2023 Freshmen Ice Breaking activities organized by 25 GTIIT peer mentors, were held at the South Campus from August 12 to 13. The activities have helped the new students connect with the classmates, alleviate any initial nervousness, and facilitate a smoother transition into their new academic and community environment.

The activity kicked off with self-introductions, where students shared their interests, quickly bridging the gap between them and creating a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. The freshmen were divided into 25 groups to participate in a series of team-building games designed by the peer mentors at diverse functional venues in the south campus of GTIIT.

Multifunctional hall, yoga room, table tennis room, indoor basketball court ...... The brand-new and wide GTIIT South Campus was full of laughter everywhere. The young students gradually became familiar with each other and learned to group up with each other to finish the task and challenges.
The activities came to an end, while most of the students still stayed at the venue to chat with each other. They have listened to the sharing by the senior students, talked about their dreams and plans, and most importantly, many of them got acquainted with each other and became friends since that night.

The ice-breaking activities enabled the freshmen to integrate into the GTIIT community smoothly and expanded their social networks as well. We extend our best wishes to them as they embark on this new chapter with the accompany by each other and the help from the peer mentors.

25 GTIIT Peer Mentors
The Ice Breaking is one of the series of activities organized by the Peer Mentor Program, which has been implemented by GTIIT since 2018, to actively responds to the various needs of the freshmen in the admission stage. Through the experience and resources sharing of the outstanding senior students, it helps freshmen to get through the adaptation period as soon as possible and integrate into college life smoothly. Since the implementation of the project, PMs have become a bridge between the university and freshmen, gaining great recognition and support from them. PMs also improve their comprehensive abilities and enrich their extracurricular experience.
