Dear Cohort 2023, welcome to GTIIT! We are delighted to have you join the GTIIT family, here at our beautiful campus in Shantou. In addition to the colorful university life and challenging study, there is also a group of lovely peer mentors, who will guide you to adapt to the new environment, and unlock various ways to "learn and have fun".
Since 2018, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology has implemented the Peer Mentor Program, which actively responds to the various needs of the freshmen in the admission stage. Through the experience and resources sharing of the outstanding senior students, it helps freshmen to get through the adaptation period as soon as possible and integrate into college life smoothly. Since the implementation of the project, PMs have become a bridge between the university and freshmen, gaining great recognition and support from them. PMs also improve their comprehensive abilities and enrich their extracurricular experience.
5 functions of the PM program:
Establish a long-term and stable information exchange mechanism for students;
Establish a practice-oriented leadership training mechanism;
Create a warm and friendly campus atmosphere to enhance students' sense of belonging to GTIIT;
PMs provide care, guidance, advice and support to facilitate students' personal growth and development;
Through effective communication between PM and team members, to timely understand the real needs of students and provide effective help.
PM is a bridge between the university and freshmen, and also the guide for the freshmen in the campus. As you begin your university journey, you may encounter various problems and confusion. But don't worry! We will help you with our experience and resources to get through the adjustment period as quickly as possible and integrate smoothly into university life. Welcome to GTIIT.
