Shantou Science and Technology Bureau Visited GTIIT
Before the Chinese New Year 2023, Chen Yanli, Director General of Bureau of Science and Technology of Shantou Municipality led a team to visit Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) and held an in-depth discussion with the university’s leaders and representatives of foreign faculty members. Prof. Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, attended the meeting.

Chancellor Gong first gave a warm welcome to the delegation. He represented GTIIT to express gratitude to the great support that the science departments had offered on research platforms' building and industry-university-research cooperation. He also looked forward to the promotion of the service for the foreign scientists, which would reassure them to settle down in China and focus on their work.

Prof. David Gershoni pointed out that GTIIT had survived from the effect of the Covid-19 and achieved success in many aspects. He also stressed that Shantou city should take advantages of GTIIT's international high-level research team while giving more support to the university.

During the meeting, Ms Chen Yanli delivered Chinese New Year wishes on behalf of the Bureau. She showed appreciations to GTIIT's professors for their contributions to the city's innovation and development. She welcomed GTIIT and the Technion to dock with Shantou City's key industries, thus more international communication and research results would thrive in the city.
