Stanford University has recently released the list of the World's Top 2% Scientists 2022. Eight professors from Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) were named on the list.
The "Career-Long Impact List" includes 6 members from GTIIT faculty team:
·Prof. Ji-Dong Gu (Environmental Science and Engineering Research Group);
·Prof. Harold Corke (Biotechnology and Food Engineering Program);
·Prof. Zhong Ziyi (Chemical Engineering Program);
·Prof. Xu Peng (Chemical Engineering Program);
·Prof. Varenyam Achal (Environmental Science and Engineering Research Group);
·Prof. Klaus-Dieter Liss (Materials Science and Engineering Program).
The "Single-Year Impact List"(2022) includes 7 members from GTIIT faculty team:
·Prof. Ji-Dong Gu (Environmental Science and Engineering Research Group);
·Prof. Xu Peng (Chemical Engineering Program);
·Prof. Varenyam Achal (Environmental Science and Engineering Research Group);
·Prof. Harold Corke (Biotechnology and Food Engineering Program);

·Prof. Daniel Tan (Materials Science and Engineering Program);
·Prof. Zhong Ziyi (Chemical Engineering Program).

The list, compiled by the team of Professor John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, using citations from Scopus, an international scientific database, is based on standardized information of citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator, covering more than 7 million scientists and scholars considered to be active worldwide, respectively from 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.
GTIIT faculty members featured in the list are from various scientific fields including Earth & Environmental Sciences, Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry, Chemistry, Materials and Energy. The latest Stanford rankings reflect the significant influence and research excellence of GTIIT scientists, who are committed to furthering their knowledge for the benefit of the world.
As the only Sino-foreign cooperative university on science and technology, GTIIT is the China campus of the world-leading university, the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. As a young and energetic university, GTIIT has shown its great potential in academic research in just a few years. 723 papers have been published by GTIIT, among which more than 90% have been indexed by SCIE/EI. GTIIT faculties actively apply for and carry out academic research projects. Up to now, more than 100 research projects have been awarded, including 13 awarded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and 5 awarded by Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province.
