In order to implement the spirit of the provincial and municipal conferences on pandemic prevention and control, as well as to build a strong campus security line, this morning, Wang Xuezhu, Vice Mayor of Shantou, led a team to visit Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT).
Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, introduced the campus’ COVID-19 response in detail to the inspection team. GTIIT has adjusted its pandemic prevention and control strategy in accordance with local requirements. For the coming semester, we've strengthened the health management of people back to campus and carried out nucleic acid tests. A leading team, as well as five emergency groups who take turns on duty, have been set to build a strong campus security line during the National Holiday and set the stage with concrete action to welcome the 20th CPC National Congress.
The inspection team listened carefully to the work report and asked the details about GTIIT’s response to the recent COVID status. Wang Xuezhu emphasized that the current pandemic situation is still severe and complicated. We must prioritize it, enhance pandemic containment measures, and improve emergency response capabilities. The university should well manage the return of students and teachers to school this fall and carried out mass nucleic acid tests to ensure overall campus safety.
Heads of GTIIT's Student Affairs, Operation Department and Human Resources Department as well as relevant staff accompanied the inspection.
