A series of campus activities was held for freshmen at Guangdong - Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) to provide an ice-breaking chance to meet like-minded friends and better adapt to campus life.
A campus exploration activity organized by the GTIIT Youth League Committee was held at GTIIT North Campus. This activity is a team competition. About 280 students were divided into 17 teams of mentees led by different peer mentors and participated 10 games. The first three teams with the highest scores would be awarded based on the task completion time or the number of correct answers.
The freshmen gained various knowledge in an entertaining way. The Party's history, mandarin promotion, English vocabulary, epidemic prevention and anti-fraud knowledge were included in the competition.
In the "Have Fun in English" section, students interacted with teachers, accumulating vocabularies while knowing more about each other in a relaxed and happy atmosphere.
Various activities were set to cultivate team cooperation of freshmen.
Among them, the "Passing Bottle" game tested the tacit cooperation among team members. The students held their breath and shouted the slogan "3, 2, 1" to keep the same pace. They threw the water bottle to the next member of the team while catching the bottle thrown by the last member of the team.
The cheers and happiness of the participants marked a successful end to this campus exploration activity. With vigour and vitality, GTIIT students will work hard to tackle future challenges in the university.
