Sunshine is glorious in Shantou. And today, GTIIT North Campus is extraordinarily lively, for the first students of GTIIT report on their arrival this morning!
To welcome them, GTIIT has gone through elaborate preparation, from infrastructure like dorms, canteen and classrooms, to the prestigious faculty and colorful students’ activities. 222 first students of GTIIT might be excited, nervous, confident or unsettled. Anyway, they have chosen GTIIT to become the first students here, and, their university journey begins.

Freshmen bring vitality to GTIIT. When interviewed by the media on the spot, Li Jiange, Chancellor of GTIIT, said, the goal of GTIIT’s establishment is to cultivate cutting-edge scientific and engineering talents. Technion-Israel Institute of Technology is a world-renowned polytechnic university. GTIIT has introduced three undergraduate programs from Technion this year. In the future, GTIIT will introduce more outstanding programs from Technion to Chaoshan region. As it is known, Israel boasts for its innovation. We hope to implant innovation in GTIIT so that our students will be adept at both researches and practical operation. Meanwhile, we hope here to be a breeding ground for masters, especially the ones urgently needed in society.
