On April 2nd, Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) and Shantou Organization for the Promotion of Listed Company Development signed a cooperative agreement on the public welfare project “Innovation Seed”, aiming at further cooperation in cultivation of innovative talents and transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, Mr. Lai Henghui, Secretary-General of Shantou Government, Mr. Tang Dianqin, President of the Association attended the ceremony.
According to the agreement, the funds will be mainly used for high-quality projects initiated by GTIIT faculty and students, to promote University-Enterprise joint cultivation of innovative talents. Tang Dianqin introduced the aim and vision of the project. He said that the “Innovation Seed” project will help promote local innovation and provide a platform for the cooperation between GTIIT and local enterprises, sowing the seed of a local "Chaoshan Silicon Valley". Dr. Queena Yi pointed out that GTIIT, following the Technion, is implanting innovation into education. GTIIT is cultivating students' innovative ability through providing courses in entrepreneurship. She hoped the two sides will take the opportunity to cooperate in talent cultivation and the implementation of high-quality projects.
Prof. Lin Danming, Dr. Queena Yi and Dr. Lawrence Liao, Director of GTIIT Student Affairs Department, had a deepen communication with local enterprise executives, introducing the latest policies and plans. The two sides reached consensus on further cooperation after the discussion on promoting students' employment, including talent training, campus recruitment and career guidance.
