In the afternoon of February 23, Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) led a team to visit the Shantou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. Lin Xibo, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Shantou Municipal People's Congress and Director of the Management Committee of Shantou High-tech Zone, presided at the meeting. Relevant departments of the Management Committee of Shantou High-tech Zone, the Party Government Office, the Bureau of Investment Promotion of Shantou Municipality, heads of Student Affairs Department of GTIIT and the South China Technology Transfer Center attended the meeting.
Lin Xibo introduced the development, the spatial distribution of industries, the technological innovation and relevant policies of the Zone, and pointed out that GTIIT, Shantou University (STU) and Guangdong Provincial Laboratory of Chemistry and Fine Chemicals are important growth engines of its innovation-driven development. He looked forward to deepening the cooperation of industry, education and research and building a highland of technological innovation beneficial for all.
Prof. Lin Danming said that GTIIT has high-quality students, while the Shantou High-tech Zone is the center of innovation and development. He hoped the collaboration would leverage GTIIT's research and talent advantages to bolster the Zone's technological innovation, entrepreneurship and talent cultivation.
