2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), as the important program of Sino-Israeli cooperation, has attracted public attention. On February 16, Ye Xian, Member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shantou Municipal Committee, and Wang Xuezhu, Vice Mayor of Shantou, led a team to visit GTIIT.
Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He briefly introduced the school and shared the achievements that GTIIT has made in the past five years, from the aspects of faculty recruitment, discipline establishment, talent cultivation, research progress and campus construction, etc.

The team then carried in-depth communication with GTIIT's team. They fully convinced that GTIIT had played an important role in Shantou's way to a regional highland of education field, and showed their support to GTIIT's future plans.

Ye Xian emphasized that Shantou, with a strong cultural advantages and economic power, must regard education as the cornerstone of society. The government attached great importance to the development of GTIIT, and would give full support to the school, help tell GTIIT's stories to the world and enhance the image of the city.
