On the afternoon of January 20, accompanied by Mr. Peleg Lewi, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, and Dr. Queena Yi, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor, visited Dongguuan Songshan Lake and Great Bay University (GBU). Dai Changliang, Executive Vice President of the University, and heads of administrative departments attended the meeting.
Dai Changliang extended a warm welcome to the delegation of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and the Israeli Consulate-General in Guangzhou on behalf of GBU. He briefly introduced the construction, features and planning of the University.
Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, pointed out that GTIIT is the only Sino-foreign joint university focusing on science and technology and has been valued by both governments. GTIIT hopes to strengthen communication and cooperation with GBU in terms of platform co-construction, discipline development, talent training, and scientific research. Prof. Gershoni also introduced the development of postgraduate education and the cooperation of undergraduate education of GTIIT, and hoped that the two universities can carry out corresponding cooperation in postgraduate programs.
Both sides also exchanged views on the next step of the cooperation, especially on promoting the establishment of a joint research center in Songshan Lake.
