2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. Today, Mr. Niv Hanan, Economic Consul of the Consulate General of Israel, and Ms. Iris Gao, Trade Director of the Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou, visited Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT).

Prof. David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, and Prof. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor, extended a warm welcome and had in-depth discussions with the visiting delegation.

Prof. Lin Danming provided a general picture of GTIIT's characteristics, including majors, teaching staff, the destination of the first cohort and the latest progress of the construction of the South Campus. He said that GTIIT is the youngest Sino-Foreign cooperative university and the representative program of Sino-Israel cooperation. GTIIT wishes to bridge Chinese and Israeli enterprises and promote communication and cooperation.


Mr. Niv Hanan praised GTIIT for its progress made in short period of time in terms of teaching, research and campus construction. “Education is part of innovation. There is no trade without education.” he said, speaking highly of the positive role played by GTIIT in pushing business exchanges and innovation cooperation between China and Israel. He looked forward to further connection with GTIIT, especially in commercialization and university-enterprise cooperation.
Prof. David Gershoni agreed with Mr. Niv Hanan's words. He pointed out that, GTIIT, with world's leading talent-cultivating resources, would continuing provide “China-borned Israeli engineers” for Sino-Israel cooperation.
