On December 7, the expert group for site inspection of important education statistics in Guangdong Province came to Shantou to review the construction of the statistical work system and statistical data of the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology(GTIIT). Pro. Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT, and heads of relevant administrative departments of GTIIT attended the meeting.
Pro. Lin Danming briefly introduced the current development of GTIIT’s education statistics. He said that the university attaches great importance to data verification. GTIIT strictly follows the rules in data archiving and the collection and filing oforiginal data statistical reports and supporting materials. Not only ensure the timely and accurate collection of all data, but also strengthen the management of statistical data and use statistical data scientifically.
After listening to the briefing, the inspection group also focused on statistical data of GTIIT students and faculty, campus and university building area, total value of fixed assets, value of teaching equipment, books, etc. They check the original data, ledger and other supporting materials of these types. The inspection group said that education statistics is an important basis for education management and scientific decision-making, and is of great significance for correctly analyzing the development of education and ensuring the scientific development of education. It is necessary to enhance the sense of responsibility and mission to do a good job in education statistics, to ensure that education statistics are authentic, accurate, complete and up to date, and to use high-quality data to help the high-quality development of education.
Next, GTIIT will take this inspection as an opportunity to implement the opinions and suggestions given by the expert group, and further promote the steady, sound and harmonious development of the university.
