November 10 and 11, Professor Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a team to visit Suzhou Industrial Park Xinghai Experimental Middle School and Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School. In these schools, Chancellor Gong gave the science lecture named "Sunshine Lights up the 'Double Carbon' Future - from Photoelectric Effect to Solar Cell."
During the visit, Chancellor Gong introduced the basic situation, student training mode and graduate employment prospect of GTIIT, fully demonstrated the school running characteristics and advantages, which gained lots of praises for the running strength of GTIIT.
Later, on behalf of GTIIT, Chancellor Gong awarded the plaque "Recognized School for Excellent Students" to schools, and held in-depth communication with leaders of Suzhou Industrial Park Education Bureau, Xinghai Experimental Middle school, Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School and other units on the development and reform of basic education, the rise and implementation of "engineering education", enrollment publicity and cooperation, so as to form a broad consensus and reach a further cooperation intention.

In the science lecture, Chancellor Gong started from the physical phenomena in life, leading the students to appreciate the charm of physics in a simple way. With humorous language and diagrams, he explained the photoelectric effect, the quantum hypothesis of light, the conversion efficiency of sunlight, the structure of solar cells and other knowledge in simple terms, which fascinated the students. He also interacted with the students to ask them about their understanding of concepts such as the greenhouse effect. After the lecture, the students also discussed with Chancellor Gong about "technology and science" actively.

"Science is listening to the thunder in silence. Curiosity and scientific experiments that do not pursue economic interests play a key role."
"Subversion of technology is the product of the scientific revolution, not the consequence of technological innovation."
"To achieve the national goal of 'carbon peaking and carbon neutralization' is inseparable from the development of science and technology. It is the mission of every scientist to promote these developments and social progress."
Chancellor Gong's earnest words fascinated the students.
The sun lights up the "double carbon" future. At the end of the lecture, Chancellor Gong encouraged the students to work hard on scientific knowledge, to regard the benefit of mankind and society as their own responsibility, and inspired students to become high-level scientific and technological talents.
