Preparatory Period

New GTers should arrive on August 8. The Preparatory Courses will start on August 10 and end in September 30, so new GTers have to arrive before the date. 

If you cannot arrive on time, please apply for absence by writing to studentaffairs@gtiit.edu.cn.

In the preparatory period, all students are required to complete the courses of mathematics, physics and English. For students registered in programs other than Mathematics with Computer Science, they are also required to complete the course of chemistry. 

Requirements on Prevention and Control of COVID-19

At present, the pandemic has affected many provinces and cities in China, and the situation is grim and complex. GTIIT will be adjusted the policy at any time according to the province, city, and campus requirement on prevention and control of COVID-19. The Student Affairs Department will notify you in time. Please pay attention to it. Thank you for your understanding.

Getting To The University

Plane

Train

From Chaozhou ChaoshanRailway Station

You can travel to the GTIIT by Bus No. 181B.

From Shantou Railway Station 

You can travel to the GTIIT by Bus No. K3, No. 6, No. 39, No 107, No 41

Note: You may buy discount train ticket with youracceptance letter.

Car

You can drive to the GTIIT if you like. You are suggested to get off the highway from Yuepu/Tuolian Exit if you come by highway.

From Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport and Chaozhou Chaoshan Railway Station, you can travel to the GTIIT by the GTIIT shuttle bus for free at 9:00/11:00/13:00/15:00/17:00 on August 8. Student volunteers will be able to meet you in the station and guide you to the shuttle bus.

Medical Insurance

You are suggested to buy medical insurance. The cost is about 280 RMB per year, which is subject to the Shantou Social Security Bureau. 

Lap-top Requirements

You are suggested to bring your own laptop for study purpose.

Bedclothes

The student rooms are well furnished with air-conditioner, fans, washing machine, dryer, microwave oven. Beds allocation information has been updated on the QQ group, please refer to it.

Personal File, Hukou and Membership Credential

Please keep your Personal File sealed. And if you like you could transfer your HUKOU (registered residence) to Shantou. And you are required to transfer your membership to GTIIT if you are a member of CPC or Youth League Committee.
