The Fifth Session of the Second Board Meeting of Guangdong Technion - Israel Institute of Technology was successfully held both online and offline on July 8th.
Participants attending the meeting included Jiang Hong, Chairman of GTIIT Board; Uri Sivan, Vice-Chairman of GTIIT Board,; and other board members: Gong Xingao, Wang Quan, Huang Huiyang, Aaron Ciechanover, Oded Rabinovitch, Boaz Golany,. The meeting was presided by Jiang Hong.
Members of the Board of Directors expressed their warm welcome to the new leadership of GTIIT. They also expressed high expectations for Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT; David Gershoni, Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Wayne D. Kaplan, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of GTIIT. With the improvement of the leadership structure and the academic team, GTIIT will further accelerate its development, and strive to make new breakthroughs in teaching, scientific research and other aspects in the future.

Reports on all aspects, including academic affairs, research activities, student recruitment, campus construction, daily operation etc., were delivered during the meeting. The progress of GTIIT was fully affirmed by the members of the Board of Directors, and the suggestions for GTIIT’s future development were also put forward.
Other attendees included Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT; Eran Gal-Or, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director General of GTIIT; and Hao Zhifeng, President of STU. Directors from GTIIT, STU and the Shantou Municipal Government also attended the meeting.
