From April 21st to 23rd, an on-site review of application for bachelor degree authorization, organized by Academic Degree Committee of Guangdong Province, was taking place at Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT). GTIIT is the first Sino-foreign cooperative university in Guangdong Province to receive such on-site review.
The review committee listened to the reports regarding the development of GTIIT and its programs construction, inspected the teaching laboratories, canteen and other major facilities, checked teaching documents and related materials and attended different classes. The reviewers also interviewed GTIIT management, school deans, program heads, relevant admin staff, and had meetings with faculty members and students respectively. They pointed out that the GTIIT attaches great importance to the team building of faculty by introducing first class scientists and researchers from the Technion and recruiting talents globally. GTIIT attains international standards in terms of talent training model, curriculum development and academic system. They also recognized GTIIT for its distinctive features in small class teaching, intensive teacher-student interactions, students' ability of applying knowledge into practice, etc.
In the feedback session, two groups of the reviewers, one for university review and the other for program review, presented their feedbacks respectively, making specific suggestions on optimizing the allocation of resources, strengthening academic team building, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Application for bachelor degree authorization is an important examination of education quality. It is one of the first priority tasks of GTIIT this semester. The management attaches great importance to this task. In preparation for the on-site review, our faculty members, students and administration team show reviewers the GTIIT spirit by hard work and team work.
Academician Gong Xingao, Chancellor of GTIIT, expressed his gratitude to all reviewers. He said that the on-site review is not only one of the milestones of GTIIT, but also a new stage of the University's development. GTIIT will take this moment as an opportunity to further highlight programs characteristics, cultivate more talents, and get all the work improved.
