Recently, according to the news from STU-Technion Research Project Center, six research projects on human health, which are carried out by scholars and researchers from both STU and Technion, have been funded by the Li Ka-Shing Foundation. They are:

3.??? The heparanase-CD24-L1CAM axis in glioma tumorigenesis – Pro. Vlodavsky & Pro. Yang Xiaojun

4.??? Defining the Sharpin/PTPRO/PRMT5 regulatory axis in esophageal and melanoma cancers – Pro. Ze'ev Ronai & Pro. Zhang Hao

Since the launch of STU-Technion Research Project, the Center has received twelve project proposals. So far, the fund has been allocated by the Li Ka-Shing Foundation, which will be available to the researchers in the near future.

The program was initiated by Dr. Frieda Law from the Li Ka-Shing Foundation and a physician in the medical school of Shantou University, and Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, the 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry who serves also as Vice Chancellor of GTIIT.?
