On September 8, Vice President of Shantou University and Board Member of GTIIT (Prep.) Lin Danming held a workshop about "Understanding New Sino-Israeli Science & Technology Cooperation" in the 2nd "Internet+" class in Shantou and shared some interesting stories behind GTIIT preparatory work.
?
Professor Lin Danming fully participates in promoting cooperation for GTIIT formal establishment. In the lecture, he talked about the history and characteristics of Technion and brought insight of Israeli creative thinking and its mechanism of formation. He especially introduced the university values, goals and campus construction of GTIIT and the current preparation progress. Professor Lin also offered suggestions for further cooperation with Israel by combining the characteristics of Shantou industrial development.
?
Shantou "Internet+" class is jointly hosted by Shantou Bureau of Economic and Information and the Municipal Internet Information Office. Audience included leaders from Bonded Zone, High-tech Zone, Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Experimental Zone, district and county governments, and other municipal departments, as well as telecommunication enterprises, internet related enterprises, high-tech manufacturing enterprises, and internet associations, etc.
?
"Internet+" means "internet + different traditional sectors". However, it is not simply adding up the two. It is using information communication technology and internet platform to better merge internet with traditional sectors like industry, business, finance, service, etc. and stimulate new ecological development. On the third session of National People's Congress in March 2015, Premier Li Keqiang first proposed "Internet+ Action Plan" in the Report on the Work of Chinese Government.
