On March 8, the International Women's Day, an art exhibition of flowers from Israel was held at GTIIT. The Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou Mr. Peleg Lewi, Deputy Consul General Ms. Carmel Halevy, Acting Chancellor of GTIIT Liu Wenhua, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT Lin Danming and Mr. Eran Gal-Or, Director General of GTIIT were invited to the opening session of the Flowers Exhibition.

Orchid, sunflower, African lily... various flowers have brought fantastic feeling to us. Shantou, a coastal city in Guangdong Province, has a romantic encounter with Israel, a desert oasis, at GTIIT by chance through the common flowers. Through the photographs of Rotem Avrutsky, a photographer and multi-disciplinary artist from Israel, we can see the beauty of flowers.

“Israel is a country where nearly half the land area is desert but making the desert bloom with flowers. This inconceivable thing was possible only because of the wisdom and tenacity of the Israeli." Mr. Peleg Lewi, Consul General of Israel in Guangzhou, said that these art works not only reflected the beauty of nature, but also symbolized the positive qualities of the Israeli people. "Flower is a symbol of friendship between China and Israel, and we look forward to more interactions and the better relationship between us.”

"GTers are hard-working and positive. The campus culture and atmosphere is consistent with the vitality conveyed by this flower art exhibition. Let’s look forward to GTIIT’s prosperous future!" said Liu Wenhua, Acting Chancellor of GTIIT.

“We sincerely appreciate all the support that the consulate general of Israel has offered, such as helping in delivering epidemic prevention supplies to our faculty in Israel during the most difficult period of pandemic, connecting GTIIT with different companies for students’ internship, and introducing art activities into GTIIT to enrich our campus life. I firmly believe that our relationships will get stronger with further collaboration in the future." said Lin Danming, Pro-Vice Chancellor of GTIIT.

Surrounded by the flowers and feeling the warmth of spring, it is time to enjoy a journey of discovering the beauty.

During the event, the delegation led by Mr. Peleg Lewi also paid a visit to the South Campus to learn about the latest development of GTIIT, and discussed topics of scientific research cooperation, student internships, international exchanges, cultural activities etc. with faculty representatives.
